Hey guys, I searched but you know how that goes... My problem is that my front driver side window is going up intermittently. I believe it is the connection, as the window motor seems strong still. I have to press my switch just right for it to go up, basically in spurts... Is it the switches connection that could need cleaning or is corroding? It's getting cold out and don't wanna get stuck with my window down.

Thanks!

I had this with my car when trying to raise the pass front window from the master switch. All else worked fine. Solved the problem by going to the U-Pick down the street & spending $9 for a master switch. No problems since. GARY

yup, drivers side swtich is a known failure point on these cars. Dont know i its just from the amount of use it sees or if water gets down in the door, but thats what it sounds like to me

Just the other day I noticed when I went to work in the morning, I lowered the drivers window, & the dew on the roof dripped directly into the switches. So now I wait a few minutes to lower the window when the roof is still wet. GARY

When we meet up (if I ever find time) I will have you look at it.

I do however have an extra master switch laying around I could give a shot but IIRC I got it out of an impala that the windows were either down or smashed out at the pull and pay here in cincy.

Should still work. Just clean the contacts with an eraser, and bend the copper U and it will work.

I took it out and actually haven't put it back in. Haven't been home in a week and it hasn't been driven. I am going to be home tomorrow to put it back in.

I cleaned the contacts with an eraser and put it back in and nothing. I don't know what the copper U so I didn't try anything else with it. Have a picture of what the U is HS?

Bout time I get this fixed, haven't put my window down in awhile, too scared it won't go up! Had a lot of trouble putting it back up after I tried just the erasers.

Thanks!
