Your probably better off stopping by the scrap yard and picking the whole thing up for next to nothing.

Funny, I never realized the "slider area" was supposed to be lit until I read this post. I now realize my bulbs there must be burned out, but the dials are well lit. However, it's not even worth it to fix the bulbs, as here in S. Florida, I always leave the temp control at the coldest setting all year long. However I might pick up a spare A/C control just to have as an extra. GARY

I used 5mm 18000MCD LED's and 330ohm 1/2W resistors. It came out very bright though I will probably end up switching the resistors out to make the LED's a little dimmer.

FYI, the HVAC control board is super delicate. I consider myself to be decent at soldering and I thrashed a spare HVAC unit. If you want to tackle this task, you need to have a quality adjustable heat soldering iron or you will melt the traces right off the board.

I have a weller WLC100 soldering iron so I have some settings just not really precise. I'm willing to give it a try if replacements are cheap might as well try. I imagine was thinking of doing some of the other lights if I can get this one working

No problem. The sliders are just 2 bulbs. Id get:
2-5mm White LEDs
Anywhere from 13,000 to 20,000 mcd.
Resistors come with it and you can just use them. Or use 1/2 watt 620 ohm resistors.

Yes that product comes with a resistor. But you overpaid BIG time. I can get 50 for that price.
