So I've been using this old school point and shoot camera from like 2002 forever, super beat up, can't take pics without flash, etc. It's been time for an upgrade for a long time.

I didn't want anything too crazy, but I wanted something easy to use, and a little more features than my old school POS. A friend of mine showed me some stuff he took with his Nikon 1 J1. It's not quite DSLR, but its way more advanced tham my POS and I like that you can swap lenses and such.

So for an early bday present, (after 6 months of wanting it) I now have the j1. Its really fun, been messing around with it all day, but theres still a ton for me to learn.

Going to be posting pics in this thread, here's a few that I shot so far. (note: still learning how to tweak the settings and everything, and I have not edited anything yet)

I'll be taking more, and hopefully learn how to adjust everything for individual situations, and I will post some cool pics later. Can't wait to do a car photo shoot with this.

Took a couple more pics today still just messing around:

this last one would have been awesome, if that plane didn't blur and f it up lol

Shot this one this morning. I wanted to pull over on the highway the sunrise was AWESOME, but didn't have the time, so I snapped this one once I got to my destination.

Turned out pretty cool, plus there's a GP and Impala in it lol
