I have fixed broken wires before about 5 inches away from the hub that caused trac off and abs lights to illuminate but this time one of the two wires broke off right at the hub.

Is this repairable, can the hub be taken apart or something.. when a wire breaks off leaving nothing to splice another wire onto?

There is no way to save it if the wires snapped off at the hub. You are gonna have to buy a new one.

You can't go wrong with SKF or Timken, everything else is garbage.

I would normally have said that as well, but I'm on my 6th Moog on my wife's '04. Might be another issue but 4 on the rf, 2 on the lf. 2 for noise, 4 for abs sensor. Haven't tried another brand just because I don't want to switch companies I get them from, but if I get another one I'm going to switch to skf.

Doh, you're the reason I recommended the Moog! Wink

Lol, I know! Actually I have not had any customers have troublewith moogs. But I sure have. I an thinking there is an underlying cause though. I just put one on my wife's in November. If that one lasts I will believe I just had a bad run. If it breaks, I'm changing out that side axle or something. Her right front has had 4 hubs in 2 years.

I had some extra time and decided to remove the wheel hub to inspect the broken wire. There was about 3mm of wire sticking out of the hub and I was able to strip and solder a new piece on repairing the harness.

On my 3rd day and so far all is well
