so after tearing apart my 2002 base impala with no amp, to apply alpha damp and run my amp 4gauge power wire through my firewall for my new 4 channel amp. i started thinking about how i was gonna run rcas and speaker wire, i looked at the accordion grommets on my drivers side and passenger side and figured id run through there......decided to take off the speaker grill and look at the connection. my car has the speaker wires soldered to the speaker....then to an adapter.....THEN it runs through the door and up into the dash

problem the drivers side accordion looks to be unaccessable because its blocked by my emergency brake system?

theory- do i try and find where those speaker cables run into my head unit....and cut them before they run into the headunit and route them to my amp essentially creating the chain

headunit--->eq-----> amp speaker wire----> old(existing) speaker connections---->speaker

what are my options?

Run the wires though from the amp to the speakers directly. Use a hanger to guide the new wire through. I might have some pictures from my install. I'll check tomorrow when I'm not on an iPad.

I don't have any photos from when I did mine. Just stick a hanger through the accordian tube from the door side and once it's in the passenger cabin, tie a speaker wire to it and then pull it back into the door. It's pretty easy once you figure it out.

Make sure the parking brake is applied when you are doing the drivers side. It will give you much needed clearance working in the area.
