Hello everyone. I have a 2003 impala with engine problems. Hooked up tech2 and retrieved 3 codes. 1) bank 1 sensor 1. 2) p0300 misfire. 3) low oil pressure sensor. Car came in to shop running like crap bucking sputtering lack of power also when car was running the cat was really hot and glowing. I changed the spark plugs and wires being it never had tuneup at 120,000 also changed o2 sensors and cat and also checked oil level and oil was good. Checked fuel pressure and it was good. Checked MAF,EGR, all vacuum lines all came up good. Ok started the car up after going over everything and still have the same problem with bucking sputtering and lack of power. Does anyone have any thoughts of where to go next.

Has a backpressure test been done on the exhaust?

Plugged cat? Backpressure problems will make the trans shift poorly and robs the engine of a lot of power.

If it's red hot, you've got some problems that need attention asap, and the catalytic converter is a good (but not cheap) place to start. I had to change mine on my 2003 probably 12 months ago, barely had the engine power to climb long hills.

Thank for your advise everyone. I did find the problem this morning. Found a tiny hair line crack on the bottom of coil 3&6 witch was arching to 1&5 coil.the odd thing is when I replaced plugs and wires and then cleared out DTC the codes never came back for misfire again even when it was misfiring the second time.
