This may be a stupid question. How do I check my cars coolant level? I can see the level in the overflow tank but how do I know the level in the radiator. This matters because my low coolant light comes on and off randomly, possibly because I have low coolant, possible because the sensor is shot as ive heard other people say.

Open the radiator cap, shine a flashlight down the fill neck. If the coolant isn't to the top or you cant see any coolant, its not full

Well not really. Have you ever changed the Antifreeze? Is your oil level dropping allot? Has anyone put the GM pills in the rad to stop leaks? If so, you will get the gunk look in the over flow bottle and rad.

Just to add.. It was a common thing at one time for GM Dealers to add the pills(sealant)

In 95 at the Caddy dealer, it was part of a coolant flush. We had cases of the pills. GARY
