Hello everyone, I have a question in regards to my exhaust system on my 2003 Monte Carlo SS (3.8 V-6). When I replace the exhaust system from the cat back can I have the muffler shop put on a straight pipe to replace the resonator, or will it be excessively loud/noisy or will there be a loud hum sound a t certain speeds? My car is completely stock and will keep it that way. Thanks in advance for any opinions/replys. Very Happy

On the Monte forum a lot of people have run a res delete and it doesn't annoy them.

It can possibly be a little raspy around 45mph, but the muffler will be the biggest point in the sound change.

Resonators are overrated. Have them take the U-bend out and straight pipe it back to the Y.
