I was wondering. My wife would like to have more fan speeds in my 2002 LS. Her 2004 has dual climate control and the fan has more speed settings. Is there anything I can do? I'm not sure the HVAC controlhead would even swap in as the 2002 doesn't have dual climate control. Short of swapping a complete system over, any suggestions?

The 1 to 5 or whatever is in the 2002 isn't enough, or are you saying that some of the fan speeds aren't working?

Push the recirculation button.

EDIT: I don't know if the 04 will work in the 02. I don't believe so.

The later control is all digital and incompatible with your earlier car.

Buy her a new car or tell her to live with it.

On one hand, it's cool that your wife notices such things and cares about the car she is driving so much. On the other hand, some may consider that to be "high maintenance" . I suppose as John said above, pics might assist here.

I'm fairly sure both typed of A/C systems have the same maximum fan speeds, just that the later models are infinitely variable, whereas the earlier models only have 5 speeds.

Single or dual climate has nothing to do with it.

To convert to the newer system, you have to replace EVERY single piece in the A/C system, from compressor to condenser to the entire dash A/C box and dash harness. Its actually fairly easy if you know what you're doing, like me, but still a huge amount of work. Laughing
