So a few things here. The car is running great so no issues there...*knock on wood*

The cars exhaust is getting loud for me. I have the Speed Daddy Headers, with 3" DP, 3" piping to 2 Hooker Maxflow mufflers.

To make this quieter, should I add a resonator, or get 2 different mufflers?

Ive also considered demodding the exhaust system all together. Any interest?

Just trying to go the cheaper route here...

if Im not mistaken, the Max Flow are canister style glasspack mufflers, its possible that the packing has either deteriorated or blown out. My Dasd silverado had Summit mufflers that used glasspacking for sound control and they got louder as they got older.

When I swapped out from the Flowmasters to the Borla mufflers, car was much quieter, ZERO drone, and still sounded mean at WOT.

Put in a resonator first then if that is not enough then change the mufflers.

I got several resonators from Allens Stainless Exhaust. He will make you one any size.

http://www.allencorvetteexhaustsystems.com/

Call or email him, He will be able to supply you with whatever you need.

From their web site:
The BIG BITE of this 3 internal baffle muffler is perfect for High Horsepower engines. The outer shell is 4 and available in stainless and aluminized.
These Grizzmaster mufflers can be made to any length from 8-48 call for pricing.

I wonder how his prices are. Are you running a resonator?
Just need to quiet the interior sound.

Resonator = Yes

I don't remember the cost but It was really reasonable. I first contacted him off eBay where he sell's them as a set of two for V8's.
He sold me single resonator's several times for different cars. I'm very happy with the resonator.

Inside the resonator, going by the pics, does the air go over
The grooves or thru the grooves?
Ill email him tomorrow about helping with sound and pricing.

I recently changed my mufflers to the Walker Quierflow SS's

Very, Very quiet now. But I like it that way. I guess that I am getting to old! haha

You can install the resonator either way. you will get more sound deadening by installing it so that the louvers/vents face upstream.
Either way there is not much difference. I installed mine so the louvers/vents face upstream.
It helped quite a bit with that annoying noise when driving on the freeway.
I think the one I purchased was 24" O/A (20" Case)

See this picture:

DOes the end facing you go towards front of car, or towards end of car, for best sound deadning?
