Check plugs and wires. Possibly ignition control module. If those are all alright, it could be an injector. If all is well there, do a compression check on that cylinder. A misfire could also be attributed to a vacuum leak, a faulty intake manifold gasket, or a faulty head gasket.

Swap the plug from cyl 2 into cyl 4, see if the misfire follows. Likewise, swap the wire from cyl 4 to cyl 6. That could tell you if its the plug or the wire.

Yes it can be. I've had two misfires in the last year. I changed out the plug in that cylinder and everythings gravy. Make sure too use AC Delco plugs and wires.

So i took it apart, turns out the rocker arm snapped in half... Sad anyone know how this couldve happened..? Also the push rod appears to be either broken or has fallen into the motor..

Sounds like you got lucky that it didn't completely trash the motor. Fish the old pushrod out with a pencil magnet. Shine a light down there to see what the lifter looks like. Should be ok, but you never know. Personally, I would put a new rocker arm and push rod in and see what it does.

Sometimes parts just fail, there probably was a defect in the part.

My mistake, the push rod is still there, however, it is bent pretty bad. Will be putting new rocker arm, push rod and lifter tomorrow. Then will go from there.. Anything else i should check or replace while its opened up.?

Hopefully the valve is not bent.. There's gotta be a reason the pushrod would bend.

Could always throw a compression tester on that cylinder to check that.

djk - could you post up a pick of what the damaged parts look like.

maybe your valve is bouncing, might be what broke the rocker. weak spring. Just thinking. Cool
