05 LS. Anyone changed theirs? Do you have to remove the brake booster? Thanks.
I show a 2005 having an expansion valve setup. Not a fun job.
What?? The expansion valves are CAKE compared to the orifice tubes on earlier Impalas! I'm fairly sure you can replace the expansion valve by just moving the a/c lines out of the way.
For the orifice tube setup, you have to unbolt the brake master and ABS module, and then do a weird corkscrew action to remove the aluminum lines from between all the various lines and cables surrounding them. Removing the brake master makes its somewhat easier, but can be done with it in place, at least for non-ABS models like mine.
I really hate GM for placing the orifice tube on the frame rail on W-Bodies, while GM minivans have it located at the top of the engine bay and 1,543 times easier to access.
