2005 Chevrolet Impala

PostPosted: Wed Aug 15, 2012 11:56 am    Post subject:  2000-2005 Impala bike rack Reply with quote

I was searching for a convenient bike rack option for my 2005 Impala. Considering the rear spoiler on the car, most trunk mounted racks seemed to be out.

There is the option to install a hitch and go with a hitch mounted rack. I was not thrilled with the idea of having a hitch on the car.

For about the same cost of the hitch option, I found the SeaSucker Mini-Bomber vacuum mount bike rack system online.

Ordered the kit from ProEdgeBiker.com and tried it out this past weekend. Great system. Very versatile!

First allowed the sunroof to open open 100% but limited access to the trunk.

Second allowed the sunroof to be 'up' but not slide back.

Interesting solution, but the lack of an actual attachment to the car would make me nervous.

Six speed decal on four speed car, ten speed suction cupped to the roof, there's a joke in there somewhere but I'm too drunk and you look like an idiot in those pants.

Off topic, but if that's your Impala...my god, cleanest Impala I've ever seen.

They are vacuum cups, not suction cups. Each rated for over 200#. I'm confident in the durability based on what I've seen online and in person so far.

There are no magnets, not sure what you're referring to Laughing

Why thank you. It is my car, I bought it in April this year. With 71K on the clock it's pretty clean. I plan to keep it that way Cool
