Upgraded to a bigger amp (300w from 100w) and had to rerun power and ground for the amp. Also just finished (I think) the big 3. I still have a bit of dimming when the bass hits and am wondering if i need to run a wire from the alt/engine to the negative battery terminal or to it's ground. The battery is aging but shouldn't be the root. I'll measure voltages when I wake up and such.

What I have right now is:
..alt+ to bat+
..bat+ to fusebox (where amp is wired from)
..alt- to chassis
..bat- to ground (used orig grounding spot)
I did not remove any of the factory wiring.

Pics: (if they are a-ok and a mod wants to they can put them in the sticky)

Oh, and how I wish this were mine Laughing

EDIT: (copied from last update)

Bump. I still have dimming, most notable at idle/stops. It did get better when I did the big 3 and upgraded from 10ga to 6ga power wire to the amp (300w). The 6ga was about the same size (better, ofc wire) as the 4awg wire I got to do the big 4 from OReiley's.

I measured voltages this morning/my night. And she ran 12.5 at battery (and random grounds) when off. Tested on and it was at 14.15ish idle and, iirc 14.7ish when revved (to an unknown voltage - wrong side of dash to tell : )) Turned on a good bass maker, Trunk Muzik by Yelawolf, and it didn't even hit lower than 14v on idle. I really wish I had the LSS+ guage so I could see while driving.

What say you? The dimming usually isn't that bad - noticeable, but better than before (dash doesn't seem to dim - rvmirror lights either dim (leds that are always on even when off) or are just shaking in their boots and losing connection with the bass Think it's negligible or should I do something else?

IIRC the one going to the bottom is the stock 10ga wire and maybe some other crap.I was intrigued by the insulated metal handle-looking thing that connects the two. Was wondering how/if they were connected.
