So the Impala was starting to literally fall apart. Within the last month the water pump blew up, the transmission started to slip again, and the front hub bearings were starting to grind.

The dealership that I was getting my service done at sent me a letter in the mail. They offered me an extra $1000 dollars over and above the dismal trade in value of the Impala. Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity.

So, where the Impala used to sit, now sits a 2007 Avalanche LTZ. Here are some pics of the new ride.

And the exodus continues. Laughing

Looks good though. Congrats on the new ride.

Don't know, but I'm glad it doesn't have one. I hate chrome.

Pretty close. Just a few more bells and whistles, such as auto climate control, pedal adjustment, and rear park assist on/off.

And actually, I think they come with chrome door handles too - previous owner must have disliked chrome and replaced door handles, grill, etc .....

EDIT: I am talking out of my butt. I just did some searching and 07 looks to have black grill and body colored door handles, like yours. 08+ appear to have chrome door handles and grill.......

Nice. Cool

Just FYI,...If it's still under warranty, keep an eye on how much oil it burn. I've lost track of how many trucks we've put pistons and rings in. Laughing

Piston slap isn't a real problem, its just a GM performance feature to give your truck a diesel sound and eliminate the need to drain the oil between changes.

How much oil loss is normal for these trucks over an oil change cycle? I know my Impala would lose almost a litre every oil change.

Just throw a fix orifice PCV and you'll be fine. Laughing
