My new ride is an off road project, maybe i like zombie movies too much but hey, living on a farm and not much else to do Wink

Anyway its a 98 cherokee 4.0L and my plans are to lift it, maybe a few basic engine mods, and weld a brush guard/taillight guards to it. i've already painted it (used to be all rusty and red) but now its flat black.

Ohh boy, you can do so much and have a ton of fun with the XJ. Check out the jeep forums. I had anZJ and lifted it with 32's kinda wish I still had it. Good luck. Cool

XJ is a good platform to play with. I too had a lifted ZJ and like topgun said, wish I still had it. I beat that thing to within an inch of its life and it kept coming back for more.

here she is....

and my brothers new 2012 JKU....

Super nice jeep!! I have family in Baja California. All you see is sand and jeeps. Especially this model. My cousin has one just like this with big paddle tires and it hauls ass in the dessert.

Damn that would be a fun project. Nothing more fun that off roading, especially when you have your own land to do it. I would LOVE to do that. If i had some land, i would be doing the same thing. My friend has an older jeep, dont know what year, lifted and on 32s. Too bad he is too scared to do anything with it.. So it just sits at his house and doesnt get used as it should..

Keep us posted with the updates!

Couple of weeks ago i got my jeep lifted with a rough country lift kit. the original shocks were about worn out, and now i have better clearance/cred Wink

Here's some pics:

This has been a very fun car to work on and drive. people in our local 'city' give me funny looks because it looks like something driven out of a scrap yard (next to a shiny new honda or something) and when I'm at home, i've been tearing it up in our woods trails and fields. has yet to get stuck though i almost got it hung up on a hill the other day. 4wd got it out.

More plans for it include bigger tires when these wear out (will be a while) and a new exhaust for different tone, hoping for a rumble. already doesnt have cat-converter due to our not having those restrictions in this area.

oh and i also want to get a brush guard...christmas maybe Very Happy
