My rear struts need replacing on the SS. I'm just worried which ones will fit with the FE4 suspension.

Any suggestions? Just need a good replacement.

Thanks

I believe the struts are the same. The springs have a stiffer rate to them than the regular spring, but the struts should be the same.

Right on!!!!! I'm avoiding the quick struts and just getting struts and new mounts, that way I know it's the right spring rate for the SS.

Side note, when are you back downstate? Need to make a trip to Bloomington to meet up with you guys.

Just went through this with my 2004 SS. The FE4 suspension does not use the same struts as FE1, 2, and 3. I think the difference has to do with the location of the lower spring pocket. My KYB Excel-Gs were listed as "with special handling suspension" (part number 339148). I went with KYBs and Monroe strut mounts and I'm very pleased with the results.

I'm headed back down the 19th. If you don't get around to doing the struts until after that and want a hand, let me know. My class sched isn't too bad this last semester lol

Confused on "FE4". It was an option? How do you know if you have it. (04 SS).

Look at your RPO tag (option codes)...it should be on the inside of the trunk.
