Well Dad decided to take the remodeling outside. And since this was a little too much for me to do by myself we did hire a crew to do the new driveway. The driveway didn't end because of money ran out, but more like waiting for Amish to come and build garage 24' x 24' added to my 15' x 24' which will be used as work shop, tools , peg boards cabinets, air compressor, hoses, table and miter saws. And that is Dad 76 yrs. old and deciding to jump and help dismantle deck to make room for garage. New garage will come out to the 24-25' from present garage and 4 1/2' beyond each side of current garage. But i am tired of sucking up stones in my snowblower so Dad decided time to go to concrete drive. cost $4k and garage floor and 16ft. apron another $2k. New driveway 75 ft. long and 12 ft. wide. And 16 ft apron at road and 2 new sidewalk pieces.

looks good. My buddys dad built a gargantuan garage to store his toys and tools. And my god is it nice... Such a luxury to have a garage like that! Cant wait till it is finished

Nothing wrong with increasing garage space. Low-maintenance concrete is a great choice for the driveway, too.

My ideal house would be a heated 4-car garage with equivalent living space above. Who needs 3000sq.ft? Get outside and do something!

Now while I agree with this statement...aside from also requiring a theater room. good luck getting a woman to live there Laughing

Even though we have enough space to put a lot bigger garage. Dad and i decided present garage is too small for car and tools, and cabinets with out doing the old sidestep to get out. But the present garage will be great for work area. And 24' x 24' will be perfect for truck and car. May go just a tad wide though. Still kicking the idea around. Total size when complete will be 48' L x 24' W it will be roughly 3 1/2 car garage. present one is 1 1/2 car. it's not bad i can still get everything in but is too cramped to do anything. So brakes or any other work i have been doing at Dad's friends. And in pics it looks like only a few feet from drive to garage. But driveway is 25' from garage to allow room for new garage.

My friend he has a 2 car wide by 2 car deep garage and can barely get his ford ranger in it to work on it. Because his Mom is using it for storage. He can't even get to his air compressor to open valve to drain water condensation. She claims she will clean it out, ( been saying it for last 3 yrs.) but she spends too much time at casino. If i was my friend i would be doing it myself and putting it all up for garbage day .

Just got off phone with Amish, they can start in 2-3 weeks. and the concrete guy says within a few days after they finish he can complete floor and apron. Very Happy Laughing Laughing

Be glad its not 415 ft like mine, lol. 99 yards of concrete later it was done. Its a good investment though, easier to keep vehicles clean, work on them, and get under them.
