Sorry accidentally posted in general discussion, I meant to post this here.

Hello,

I'll be helping my friend with his 03 Impala, he's having the PCS issue, where car slams into first from a stop now and then, especially when hot.

In addition to adding a zzp shift improver and changing out the PCS, would you recommend changing the other shift solenoids as well as manifold pressure switch. He plans on keeping the car as it is in excellent shape but also doesn't have the funds to spend money where it might not be needed. Since I am handy and have access to a fully equipped shop I'm trying to save him a few dollars in these tough times. Car has 158,000 kilometers and everything works.

I have searched the site and did not really come across many issues regarding the 1-2 3-4 or tcc solenoids so wasn't sure if these should be changed as well. Is there a preferred vendor here, and do they offer a kit?

OK Perfect, thanks. Like I said this isn't for my car however I do also drive a 2003 LS Sport Appearance package. I sell my buddy on the fact that since we're in there we may as well change them all. It's not the kind of job I want to do twice if I can avoid it.

Today I changed out the 1-2 3-4 shift solenoids, the manifold pressure switch as well as the PCS and TCC solenoid. I also added the zzp shift kit, basically 4 little spacers within the 1-2 2-3 accumulators.

So far so good, the trans shifts crisp and quickly. I even think I could have installed the two 3/4 inch spacers in the 1-2 accumulator but I installed the 3/4 and a 1/2 inch as in the zzp instructions (recommended for most cars). The whole job took about 3.5 hours. Getting that side pan off is a major PIA but luckily I had some real good help. The zzp kit took maybe 30 min to do and almost 8 quarts of fluid.
