2000 Impala 3.8......I have just started to hear a roaring, kind of a jet engine type noise coming from my rt front tire I think. The sound increases as my speed increases, when I turn rt it becomes louder. When I turn left the noise decreases. It is also is loud just going forward, but mainly when turning my wheel to the right. I have no idea what this is??? The car seems to run fine, but the noise is just unbearable. Any ideas on this?? Maybe a wheel hub replacement type deal??

It's probably a wheel hub.

Most likely thats the problem. Get your BFH and start wacking! lol...

Seriously though, do yourself a favor and do it yourself if you have the tools. It is easy and just requires alot of elbow grease and muscles. Oh, and do all 4 because the other ones will fail eventually. Also, Timken and timken only! Anything else in my book will fail just like everything else made in china. Rolling Eyes

Yes, it seem all signs are pointing to the wheel hub assembly. I wish I had the tools and space to do this, but I don't. The mechanic that I deal with tho' is a family friend, so cash is king.

I instantly thought wheel hub before I even clicked the thread title. Laughing

If it gets louder when turning right, its your left front wheel bearing.
