Finally getting a chance to do the head gaskets on my 3.4, i was not able to get rid of the gurling behind my dash and it was impossible to bleed the air out of the cooling system. replaced the radiator cap and nothing, then i started loosing coolant and it was the water pump leaking so replaced that and still couldn't.. the car never over heated or smoked white..really only things left the head gaskets or the heater core..i was also dealing with fuel pressure issues and trouble starting when cold during this time and finally i pulled a misfire in the first cylinder so i knew had to be coolant leaking into there.

heres some pics of the progress

taking the heads to get checked for warping tomorrow morning, the kit i bought came with valve seals would it be a good idea to have them install those as well?? The coolant leaking into number 1 cylinder was really the only prob..

Also can anyone explain with the exhaust valve on #1 cylinder is black while all others are white? just want to know the reasoning behind it

Rare case of 3.4 head gasket failure. Although I had mine changed out as well a year or so back. Too bad it wasn't just heater core problems. Crying or Very sad

I would say the Valves are black because of the anti freeze burning in there.
Whats the exhaust manifold look like inside?
