I am new to the forum and have searched and read a lot but can't find the answer. I am learning a lot though, thanks for all the great posts.
I have a 2004 Monte Carlo and would like to add an aftermarket amplifier and subs to my factory system. Does anybody have any advice on how to connect the amp to the factory head unit while continuing to use the factory amp for the highs and mids?
Get the T harness and keep the stock radio in the trunk or under one of the seats so you are able to keep the features (turn off tire and oil monitoring lights etc). Aftermarket head units sound so much better especially if you replace the factory amp while you're at it
Thanks for the advice guys....it helps! I am staying with the factory head unit for now because I don't have the money for a new radio. I have the amp and subs left over from my previous car, but not the radio.
