Hey all, after everything we have had done to my Impala in the last few months it's getting to the point where I'm ready to move away from this platform that unfortunately heading nowhere anytime soon. it's getting expensive to keep this car on the road lately.

We have been looking around at what's available in the Silverado/Tahoe/Trailblazer groups. I found a Tahoe in immaculate shape lifted on 33s blacked out. it's beautiful.

My question is, what do you all think I could get for this car? KBB is 5500 without the aftermarket wheels and what not. I'll list everything the car has had done.

2002 Impala LS 3.8
130,xxx miles, motor completely resealed 8k miles ago.
5,xxx miles on a rebuilt 4T65e w/ all upgrades & an external transmission cooler
Enkei PK6 18" Wheels on Primewell 245/40/ZR18s - 4000 miles on the tires, even wear.
35% window tint, 75% on the front windshield with a 5% tint strip.
Interior has been completely taken apart and thoroughly cleaned.
Leather interior no tears or stains.
New windshield
Lowered with KYB struts and ZZP Lowering Springs
190A high output DCPower Alternator 8 months old
Big 3 done
New OPTIMA red top battery.
Blacked out tail lights
New headlights and Fog lights

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of things but how much do you think I could get?

The mods add nothing (which is why I've stripped the Monte Carlo) and you won't get anywhere close to 5500 for the car. Realistically, I'm thinking I'll get 3 for the Monte Carlo and that's gonna be a stretch...

I don't know why you'd want a lifted SUV that's going to get s**t MPGs and will never see mud. Confused

That and I think it would be trading one set of headaches for another... but it's his call not ours.

any heavily modded car from your impala up to a corvette is going to be expensive to keep on the road. I'd say you've put the work in, enjoy it, find something to drive daily that's cheap so you don't have to drive the impala as much and save some miles on her.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to drive my Impala until something terrible happens. I've always wanted to get a truck/suv though. The only way this would happen is if a good deal comes along. I'm not terribly worried about MPG's b/c I drive around town, and I am going to continue to drive in the city (community college is 5 miles from my house) for the next two years probably.

This isn't going to be something that's happening immediately, I just wanted to see how much my car would possibly be worth if that time came.

There are plenty of places to go mudding around here, not saying that I would take it to go mudding often...but I do drive on a lot of dirt roads (many found here in NC) and driving a lowered FWD Impala isn't too fun when it comes to all those rocks and loose gravel.

You sound like me. Im actually going to look at a Tahoe today just to check it out and see if I like it. but at the same dealership there is a impala. Looking all beautiful and sexy.. just calling my name.. at a cheaper price than the Tahoe and with less miles....

but thats besides the point. Most you will get is prolly around 3.5-4k. Hell, the 03 thats at the dealer is $4,981 with 102k miles on it.

My brother has a Suburban and the biggest thing he told me that will shock you is Gas. The common problems are the tranny , Fuel Pump, and cluster issues most of the time.

Im still in debate of which one to get. At least with the Impala I have you guys. lol

The only thing I can offer is that you know your Impala, and you could be opening yourself up to new headaches.

Don't forget the trucks' intake manifold gaskets, fuel pump, rusty tailgate cables, and I don't know how far back you're looking, but they have some nasty brake line issues, too.
