The dealer wants $800 and the local shop wants almost that much. I think we are going to make this a firehouse project but I need a parts list. Anybody have a list of everything I need to do this job?

Thanks,

Billy

This should get you most of the way. I've got an UIM gasket and assorted stuff that goes with it for sale in the classified if you want that. Then you'd need to get a LIM gasket (I used the metal frame fel-pro gaskets on my Intrigue and AC Delco metal frame ones on the Monte Carlo.

Thanks! It all seems so simple in theory. We shall see on Monday.

Any need to replace the upper plenum? The dealer suggested that they almost always warp.

The upper plenum may or may not need to be replaced. My Monte Carlo's had melted around the EGR stack and needed to be replaced and my Intrigue's had rotted away near the throttle body coolant passages and needed to be replaced as well. I'd give it a thorough inspection before starting the job to see if there are any obvious flaws and go from there.

Its pretty cheap to replace and the dorman one from rockauto comes with injector o rings, a UIM gasket, and a TB gasket.

Any difference in quality between the Dorman and the Fel Pro gaskets? If not I will get the Dorman with the plenum, might as well replace it while I have it off.

For the uppers, not really. As long as the gasket seals you are good to go. For the LIM, make sure you get metal frame gaskets or you could be doing the job again in the near future.
