Ok I did a search for my recent problem but have unable to produce an answer...
I just replaced both bulbs on a 2005 Impala and tonight I was reversing out of the driveway and I cannot see behind me.. The lights are out. I have checked the fuse panel and it was ok. I checked the bulbs and they are fine from the look of them. I, just lost as to why they do not work... I cannot pass state inspection with out them. (Yea one missing LED from the 3rd break light made me fail, North Carolina). any help will be thanked.
Inspecting the bulb contacts they look burnt off. Ill take a picture of them tomorrow and post them. What's weird is that when I bought the car in 06Hawaii this is the first time I have ever changed the bulbs. So I suspect that the tails are next and everything down the line.
My old Impala had terminals that looked "burnt" for the reverse lights, it made them intermittent, you could hit the trunk and they would turn back on. I just sanded the terminals and put a good coating of dielectric grease in the sockets and they never gave me issues after that.
Dielectric grease is not conductive, and if dirt or dust is present, it'll get stuck in the grease.
I had the small side signal bulbs in my taillights working intermittently and when I inspected them, the 'sockets' which pinch the bulbs were blackened. I cleaned them up with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol and they've been fine since.

where the reverse lights working when you first installed them?if ur not sure try flipping the bulbs around in the socket I know it sounds stupid but this happen to me when I was putting the l e d bulbs in my reverse lights and I switched them around and they work fine normally you can put them in either way but this wasn't the case with the bulbs I had
