I am looking to help a friend redo the body on his girlfriend's gp. Anyone know of a good place to buy the primer paint and clear coat online. We were hoping to keep it the same color as the original which is gm 8555 black.

Summit has good prices on paint and such, but I wasn't worried about a 100% color match when I bought it. For clear and primer it should be fine, unless you want to match brands with the paint you are using.

Summit and Duplicolor both make a "ready to shoot" or "shade tree friendly" paint.

Heard great things with the Paint Shop series from Duplicolor. Very user friendly.

I wouldnt worry about the correct GM paint code since its not a concourse restoration. Any black will work and if you dont do the jams / sills, no one will ever know. I painted the Monte a different white than stock and I can see a difference in the sills, but unless I point it out, no one else does.
