The 2003 Impala heater controls have "1-5" for fan settings. The 04 and 05 have 10 little dots (it might be 8 settings, not sure) but in my experience they also operate smoother when adjusting. I have a couple burnt bulbs so need to take it out anyways. Would it swap over directly or is there anything different about them?

I think the '04 is electronically controlled, earlier years are vacuum controlled but i'm not sure what year they switched over.

since the question was answered and you guys are here....

it is possible to take the controls and move them...nothing extreme but I want to make a custom center console but it would require moving the hvac controls down and out some

You could, might have to extend the wiring harness..not hard, and maybe the vacuum line
