I have an 01 LS with a parasitic draw that fluctuates from ay where .05 amps to 1.2 amps continusly, dont know when it started but may have been from day 1. Car never sat until my dad bought a new car in 2007, then it was a grocery getter. So it started dying ever few weeks and need a jump. I have been trying to find it since I got it in 08 then gave up for the last 2 yrs. The car has sat and not moved in those 2 yrs on a lift so it still looks good! If I pull the main BCM fuse the draw goes away 100%. So I bought a BCM thru a GM buddy and plugged it in un programmed and still have no draw, of course it isnt set up and that is my question. If I do this would the draw go away until I get it set up? I am thinking if it has power and there is a wiring issue it should show back up with a draw, right? I think it is the pass lock system waking up constantly but no way to prove that. Any ideas? Thanks Steve

I think the draw you are reading could indeed be the security system. My radio has an LED that flashes when it sits. (Factory). I don't know what kind of amperage it draws, but I'm guessing not much.

Maybe your battery or alternator are on their last legs.

I finally took the car in to the dealer and had them programm a BCM I bought a few yrs back. The Diehard that was in there was from 08 soI replaced it. So far after a week of sitting, opening doors and installing a radio it will still start. I am losing .2 to .3 amps over a week. My constant draw is .02 which is the radio. So I will let it sit for about 2 weeks and if it has power then it is fixed if not back to square one!
