hey everyone! My imp has been shutting off on me since last night. I was on the way home and i kinda got on it. While stopping to turn in my neighborhood, the car cuts off like its out of gas. I have a hard time getting it to crank until i give it some gas, then it get it to sputter home. Now, this morning I crank it up, it runs fine, i rev it some, no problems. I try to take it for a drive around the block. Leaving from a stop, the car does the same thing. After it does it, it has a hard time running and idling low. Can someone please help me out?

Sounds like your IAC valve is bad.

unplug the maf sensor and see if it still runs. i dont know what the specture intake looks like, but look to make sure there is nothing blocking airflow.

Thanks milwaukee!! unplugged the MAF, it idled fine, and when i plugged it back in, it shut off. Drove the block with it off, and no hiccups. So, if i ride with it unplugged for a couple days will it really mess anything up?

i had the same problem no less than a month ago, my MAF was bad, had it replaced and everything ran fine, sounds about the same problem as yours if your saying the engine sounds like its being choked on air flow and shuddering off

You will run very rich with it unplugged, that could lead to clogging your plugs/cat/o2 sensors/etc. Try to change it as soon as you can.
