So I want to put the ss bumper on my 04 impala. The only thing is that the bumper has the black textured trim/molding and my car is an all solid color.
My body man said he is going to sand down the texture and primer, than paint it to make it look like the rest of the molding. Has anyone done this? Will it look ok and match the car? I fear i am not going to like it.

yup 100% agree with Pitch. I have done it but I didnt do the moldings. from what paint guys have told me its more of a worry about how long paint will stand up.

i know guys have painted the moldings before but I havnt heard any longevity stories. FWIW my rockers are holding up ok but its a hard comparison due to debris from being closer to the road

if done correctly, it will hold up like the rest of the paint on the car.

the proper prep, adhesion promoters, flex agents, primers, paints and clears need to be used / performed
