Hey guys...02 Impala 3.8.

I'll be driving with the A/C off, temp sliders in the middle with fan speed on 1 - and the a/c will randomly cut on....

what gives?? it also seems to default to ON when I turn the car on..not a big deal, but when I'm driving and I just have it on outside air and the a/c kicks on by itself it gets cold really quick...

Any ideas?

Hasn't even passed my mind....where would I start? Not the HVAC controller right?

Other than the transmission which is sorted out and doing great now, I haven't been having many issues.

This one is more annoying than problematic.

I've put about 4k miles on her since it was rebuilt last and the transmission cooler was installed. Goin' strong!

Doesn't matter what mode it's in. I know when it's in any defrost mode the a/c compressor engages, but doesn't throw the light on the HVAC controller on.

This will happen with it on top & bottom, bottom, or just top in any fan speed. In recirculate or outside air.
