Hey guys,

So, my transmission has been questionable lately, most likely the clutch or torque converter, and since I have the base model I don't have a tach or anything else that will really tell me whats going on in the engine.

I came across this :http://www.scantool.net/review.....tegory/13/
I've seen cheaper ones on e-bay, but not any that say it'll work with a 2003 chevy impala.

Are there any cheaper ones that are compatible that anyone has used?

Thanks

Do you have an Android phone? If so, the Torque app paired with an ELM327 bluetooth module is a handy little combo.

I saw those, but I don't have a smart phone.

Make sure whatever you buy can read ABS and transmission codes.

Most can't.

*edit* are you just wanting a small gauge that tells you things?

I do enjoy my scangauge 2.

A elm 327 off amazon costs about $20. You can get one with a usb connector so the cable goes from your car data port to your laptop via usb; no bluetooth or smartphone necessary but you need a laptop. Works well, I got one about 2 months ago.

A seller on Amazon was giving them away for super cheap a few months ago and I was able to snag it for $79

It's nice to have a tool to monitor KR that I can easily swap between both of my cars.
