Always loved boats and used to drive my friends all the time. I decided to take the plunge and bought my friends boat. He had it for the past 6 yrs and prior to that my other friend owned it. I know all the boat sayings...two best days in a boat owners life..the day he bought it and the day he sold it. A hole in the water one pours money into. The best is BOAT.. Bust Out Another Thousand!!
The boat is a 1993 Baja 260. It's one of those speedboats with a single 454 big block. Has under 300 hrs on it and the engine has @ 80-90 hrs. My friend blew the motor @ 8 yrs back so the engine is pretty new. Needs some work since it hasn't been in the water for 3 yrs. I have it down at the marina near my house in Brigantine NJ ( right next to Atlantic City) . Already had it detailed and it looks amazing. I'll try to get a pic up eventually. Hope to have it in the water in a few weeks. I figure try this with the family and see how it goes. We will be getting a tube to tow the kids. Should make our summer fun!
Anyone else have some boating stories or own one??

I dont personally own one (yet..not sure if i will or not) but I have a few friends that have fishing boats, and my uncle has 4 boats so far.

Mastercraft wakeboarding boat
fishing boat
speed boat
and a pontoon boat

not sure what the other 3 are since last time I was on them was a long time ago..but I'll be going to their branson MO house so I'm sure ill be on the mastercraft and the speed boat a LOT this summer lol

Not sure if all boats are the same or what, but the mastercrafts sure do hold their value...

sounds like a pretty decent boat though

I'd still take yours over his anyday.
Baja's w/454 are not to bad of a boat but wait till he fills it back up after a putt out.
At full throttle you can almost see the fuel gauge get sucked in. Whistle

Edit:
I know there is a vid thread but this is boats and this is one f-ing good boat driver. Shocked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....re=related

Never a fan of speed boats myself, mainly because I'm an avid fisherman and anything like that wouldn't make sense for me. When I was boat shopping most of my friends wanted me to get a ski boat so I could pull their asses around.

And that video is insane lol. My boat tops out at 35mph haha. I couldn't imagine having a boat that goes 80+ mph.

I love Baja boats!

I have had a boat for 20 years now and have a lot of great memories from our
time out on the lake.

My parents always had a boat so my earliest memories as a child were out
boating. My dad passed away last summer from complications of a brain tumor.
Those early days of boating with him have really come back to me these past
several months and I cherish them dearly.

Now the past 20 years of boating with my wife and kids have been great.I feel
that my boat has been worth every penny!

Congrats, Great buy!
