I think the form factor looks better than the 2006+ models. I think I would rather get my hands on government caprice or one of those "acrobatic" very balanced cadillacs.

I have a2002 Impala LS with just under 150k miles. I think i would rather just rebuild the transmission a few more times versus spend another $40k on that. I average about 22MPG in my car, if i would just stop stomping the pedal i can get it up to about 27.

Now if I could only get my hands on a tech2 programmer and a lift, i would be all set for a very low total cost of ownership!

to me it looks like a mix of a newer camry and a malibu. i like the interior, still think the 00-05 exterior was a better and more unique design

Now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense why Chevy won't use it on Nascar from 2013+

The rear end is too short.

Interesting description. I can't say I know what you're talking about because I've never observed two cats mating. Laughing

Oh wow! Looks like Chevy took a Camaro front end, riced it up a bit, gave it the rear quarter panels of the Dodge Charger, and the rear end of the Kia K5.

GM just keeps ignoring what customers want and they continue to stay at least 5 years behind the competition...even using obvious designs from other cars as others have said.

I remember the days when the Impala looked sexy and was fun to work with...this makes me feel for the Impala community. Hopefully Chevy will pull their heads out of their butts and make the Impala a competitive sedan again.

Just read that ^ That would be awesome if Chevy did produce a 2014 SS model.

I agree. Hey 380 horses for a family sedan is amazing. It also contends with the Charger vs the basic LTZ engine of 300HP.

And terrible if its FWD. It'd have to be AWD at the minimum to not be a complete laughing stock compared to the competition (again).

Yeah the new SRT8 model is said to have 470hp HEMI and is available in RWD or AWD. 380hp to the front wheels would be cool. Even though the 2014 Impala was said not to be available with AWD you think the SS will have it?

SRT8 is only available in RWD. If it had the theoretical 380hp that would put it right around the R/T.

And 380hp and FWD would not be cool, under any circumstances.

I'd hold off excitement for something more of substance. As people noted in the comments on the article, could always be a hybrid version, as manufacturers like Hyundai and Kia have differentiated those models with slightly different front and rear fascias.
