I wonder if we will be seeing these for the next 8 years since the last body style lasted 7 and the one before that 6....

I kinda like it. I agree the 4 banger option is a joke, but the styling is better than 06+ and looks more around the size of the new Ford Taurus. The interior looks good and seems to have some great features. I think I would definitely go for a test drive before I criticize it.

To me it looks like the steering wheel is upside down, but a much better interior and finally push button start.

I personally like it! Cool I dig the body lines on it and I agree with Iffy on the Jaguar remark.

I don't think you know what a Jaguar XF looks like. Confused

There's far more Hyundai Sonata of VW Passat in the rear end

But let's be honest. Its the Cruze.

Any gambles on pricing? I'm thinking around $30k for the lowest (LT) to $40k for the highest trim and fully loaded (LTZ).

I like the interior, still taking in the exterior. Maybe seeing it in person and test driving will make me love it or hate it.

I cant imagine it will start at 30k. Probably 26ish.

As far as the car itself, dont really know what to think. Interesting is all that comes to mind.

I drive past the ass end of an XF every day in the parking garage at work. When I saw the rear shots of the new Impala it immediately reminded me of the XF. No it's not a direct copy, but I see more XF in it than the Sonata or Passat.

I noticed that as well. Never been a fan of gas cap on passenger side.

On a side note, When the Impala was revealed in 1958, the only technology available was RWD with a big engine to power these heavy cars. Since then, cars have become lighter and the FWD technology is much better for people living in the north during winter.

Chicago is the biggest market for automakers. What would sell more? FWD Impala or RWD Impala? I'm talking for your typical family looking for a bigger sedan. GM offers 2 cars that are RWD and high performance: Camaro and Corvette.

Your average person doesn't care what type of drivetrain they have. Just something reliable and safe. The current Impala and the next generation Impala are both.

If its goint to to be high $30k and just FWD that makes me consider the Ford Taurus SHO a whole lot more for the same price.

All depends on options really. An SHO starts at 39k, however a FWD Taurus Limited which would be equivalent to the Impala LTZ can be optioned all the way up to $42k. So you're kind of comparing a fully loaded lower trim level to a lesser optioned higher trim. Don't get me wrong I'd still take the SHO too. Then again I don't think I'll be in the market for a 4000lb sedan anytime soon.

I agree with helldo on the engine choices too, seems a little odd with 2 4 cyl options. Neither of which seems adequate for a car of this size. If they wanted a 4cyl base engine they should have just went with the 2.0T.
