ok weird one when i pull the high beam switch they turn on but when i let go of it they turn off completely..... when i pull it again the low beams come back on Bang Head no idea why or where to start

Did you pull the round switch too turn the headlights on out? May be something simple.

And by headlight switch, he means multi-function switch (the turn signal stalk). They are an extremely common cause of the high beams not staying on. It isn't too bad to get at if you are comfortable removing the airbag.
