Does anyone have an idea on how to replace light bulbs on an instrument cluster for a 2003 Monte Carlo SS? I was told by a Chevy dealer that they'd have to pull the cluster out and send it for the bulb replacements.

I beleive everything is soldered in, which would make sense.

Member BBEngineering (he has a website linked through the banner above) does repairs to the clusters and I would be hard pressed to believe the local dealer will do it for cheaper.

The car will run without the instrument cluster, but you won't know how fast you're going.

If you are good with a soldering iron you can upgrade to LEDs yourself following these instructions. http://www.bbengineer.com/cars.....rlight.htm

If not, BBEngineer can do it for you. He does excellent work.

A decent GPS would suffice as a Speedo for the few days he would be without a cluster.
