I had a guy from one of the local muffler shops to tell me that this downpipe would not fit my 3400 impala due to the wrong bends and bolt holes. Anyone else have a zzp downpipe like this one on there 3400 Imp

I can't really tell from the picture what you have, but if you got a 3800 downpipe it won't work on the 3400. I'm fairly certain the flange on the 3400 downpipe has 3 bolts vs the two on the 3800.

Go read some stuff on GPF, it appears that ZZP quality control and customer service has taken a dump over the last 2 years. All the while, Zoomer is busy posting all sorts of inflammatory comments in the OT section of ClubGP when he should be busy resolving issues...

Huh,.. I had no idea. Although, I imagine since it's been 7 years since the 3.4L was used in the Impala, I doubt product research and output will get any better. Laughing

Hmmm.. when did their vendor status expire? Never noticed till now.

now did they actually try bolting it up? or did they just look and say "nope dont fit"??
reason im asking is i bought a used 2.5'' downpipe from a friend and when i went to a shop to get it installed they looked and said "it wont fit" and so i went in and looked and said "my friend wouldnt sell my a incorrect part, please install" they say laughing "ok, its your dollar not mine".
Half hour later it was installed and i was drving home with my new downpipe lols. shop monkeys can be dumb when it comes to mods.

Dont understand how customer service / quality control can go downhill so much, it doesnt cost anything to have good customer service. Quality control comes from hiring someone that cares about their job. If they just hire someone to work and they dont care about anything but a paycheck, then quality will suffer.

I used to get in trouble for having too high of a standard at my old job.

as for customer service, dont places realize people will pay more for a product if it comes from a place with top notch customer service?

The reason it won't fit is because even if the bolt holes in the flange were in the correct spot that the downpipe wold be pointing JP into the floorboards instead of running parallel

So one of their welders put a flange on incorrectly?
