How does the Imp handle towing that? How much does the boat/trailer weigh?

It handles well.
It is a small boat maybe a 1000 total and with the balance of the boat on the trailer I can easily pick it up and hook by hand.
Just have to think ahead when looking at boat ramps as it is front wheel drive so you must consider the weight and incline plus traction. A heavy boat can and will take you for dip if your not careful Wink
BTW it is a 51 year old wood boat with original trailer AND tires. Cool

My boat trailer is only 11 years old and it's falling apart. Laughing

And you probably have a beautiful well kept boat sitting on it.
people concentrate on the boat and forget the trailer till it gives them problems.

Can you blame them? Boats ends up sucking up tons of money to keep them seaworthy (lakeworthy?). I know my Uncle's boat trailer is completely falling apart, but the only time he uses it is when he pulls his boat out of the water for winter and parks it just yards from the lake. Laughing

Pretty much. Laughing In my defense, I just bought the boat in 2010 and the trailer was already a piece of s**t then neglected by the previous 2 owners. I've replaced the bearings in it and replaced the winch which actually rusted right through in the middle of pulling the boat out last summer with a hurricane on the way. The rollers all need replacing as well as they're only called rollers in the sense that they once actually rolled and are now pretty much corroded to the point you can barely roll them with your hand. I'm not sure if I want to completely replace everything that needs to be replaced or just buy a new(or newer) trailer for it.

Mine is also in the situation that iffy mentions. My boat sits in a slip all summer and I only pull it out once mid summer to clean it and it goes back in the water. Then it gets towed maybe 3 miles from my place at the beach to the mechanic if i need anything done. Then it sits in my yard there all winter.

Thanks! Took me a while to find something I liked in a 17' to 19' center console that was in my budget. Only thing I've ever bought from Craigslist. Laughing

First off, love the look of your impala. Second, that is some nasty looking water there in your last picture 05imp.

Its algae
the lake was so calm for so long that day they floated and pooled in a thin layer. Ran into it about three miles out. what you see is the disturbance a fishing line does to it.

My exhaust tips are closer. Wink
Have yet to catch the skeg. the lake is only about 5 mins. away with fairly smooth streets.
Now when I take it on a camping/ fishing trip its up and locked.
And don't think i'm nuts for using the imp I have only done it a couple times Mainly because I had lent my pickup to someone and later sat there staring at a smooth lake on a pefect day and said F-it I'm still going. Laughing
