it would have to be custom painted though because i photoshopped it at an angle where it connects to the car, if i just swapped a black mirror it would have an extra corner there and not flow as good... if i grab a can of plastidip, how would that look...?

It wouldn't shine compared too your wheels or grille. Might look a little off. Plus Plastidip peels after a while. Did with me.

Personally I think it would look fine with the WHOLE mirror black. Up too you if you want too leave the small part of it silver.

I don't like it. Think it kinda throws off the lines that flow up to the mirror and kinda looks off

im not exactly a photoshop expert it is pretty off but i think its the other way around, the mirror breaks up the lines of the window...
i gotta go to a junkyard and find some black ones.

are there any vehicles with led blinkers in the mirrors that would fit on an impala?

I don't know that I would paint them, I'd see if you could track down some decent quality units second hand and throw them on the car. Personally, I think they would look good, but who knows with the color of your car.

If you paint your mirrors it's going to

a: look like you smashed your mirrors off and replaced them with off-color ones (just like the guy who throws a white fender on his black honda civic)

b: look like the crappy old mirrors from when almost all cars had their side mirrors painted black, or were made of textured black plastic.

Neither option is really a good look. The only angle this looks ok from is straight-on from the side.

And plastidip is flat black. You could give it a try if you want a temporary version of this look.

The replacement panels you usually see are dull black (unpainted) these will be gloss/clearcoat black. (painted) which will look better.

It's funny... on the Monte forums everyone wants to paint their mirrors body color because we all got (with the exception of yellow) black mirrors.

I was thinking about upgrading to heated ones anyways... probably can get the whole assembly for not much more than the glass. How did the knight rider impala guy do the led mirrors?
