I just replaced my o2 sensors with Denso from RockAuto and I'm still getting the code? It has a aftermarket cat that's about 3 years old. A little help.

The aftermarket cat is probably the problem, not the o2 sensor.

So I need to replace my cat ? I stupidly unhooked the battery to clear the code thinking it would pass if the light stays off. Went to the smog shop light stayed off but it didn't pass by the diagnosis reading of the cars PCM ( I think, can't remember what he said). Anyways it passed the emissions which makes me think if it needs a new cat at all?

You will most likely get a CEL with an aftermarket cat. GM cats won't throw a CEL, but are expensive as hell. They can read the history of the PCM so unplugging the battery to pass emissions usually doesn't work.

The cat is working fine, but it's not meeting the specs the computer wants to see for the stock cat and throws the code. You need a tuned PCM to get rid of the code or it will keep coming up.

If I get the PCM tuned will it pass smog in Cali? Who can tune it for me?

not sure but they do exist....if they plug your car up to a machine though I don't think it would help if your cat is actually bad

i dont know if you'll find an o2 emulator anymore.i believe they were outlawed. if you can find one, yes it will allow you to pass. if you cant find one you'll need to get the code turned off on the pcm.

Just an FYI... the O2 emulators are illegal, especially in Cali...

If you get caught at inspection with one, the fines can be thousands of dollars...
