Hello mi Impal Compadres, once again ran into car trouble. Here we go:
3.8 S/C L67
Driving on the highway, all of a sudden the car is overheating. It started running that "safe mode" feature where it won't run over 50mph, pulled over checked engine, its like all the coolant is backed up into the reservoir? Just replaced LIM gaskets, thermastat (oem), the works, a couple weeks ago. What gives? Feels like the engine isn't getting any coolant at all, theres plenty in it? After work going to take out the thermastat and see if that works.
Thanks

The radiator is full, correct? Not just the coolant overflow tank?

As far as I know Yes the radiator does have coolant. I put some in when did the LIM gasket job. All the coolant gets backed up in the reservoir and starts to bubble up.
Thanks

If it's bubbling, your radiator cap may just be bad. If it can't keep pressure, which raises the boiling point of coolant, it'll get too hot.

Could not find a suitable replacement as far as Autozone merch, used a radiator car off a Silverado. Fixed the problem for a moment but started to heat back up. When driving her back home, it felt like something popped and I could hear rattling when reving up RPMs. Thinking it's water pump is out. Should have replaced when did the LIM but didn't. Going to try to replace today, hopefully this is the problem.
Thanks
