Only running these wheels for a few more months then going back to the factory SS set with new tires. Probably going to go with Goodyear Eagle GT's.

I don't care what anyone says. Those '04-'05 SSes were some sweet looking cars. Cool

If he gave it a tire shine the camera would have kept the picture to itself. Laughing

That's sleek as hell, man! GJ!

Thanks everyone. I do love my car, more than I ever expected I would Very Happy I dont use tire shine because I have heard local horror stories of it causing the tires to crack. But if there is a good product anyone recommends I would be glad to try it!

I've used a few varieties from armor all to meguiers, have had no issues when it comes to tire cracking. Then again, I cannot say I have had tires last me more than 2 years either.

I wouldn't worry about that. Stick to some of the big names (Armor All, Meguires, etc.) and it'll just do what it says it does: clean and shine the tires.

Incorrect info...make sure whatever you use is water based and not petroleum based. Anything that says "Warning: contains petroleum distillates" is bad and will eventually draw the moisture out of the tire and void the warranty.

I don't put tire shine on very often, but when I do I personally use some stuff designed for vinyl (I picked it up from West Marine). I forget what it's called, but you should be able to find it if you search on here. Smile

I definitely don't doubt you, but I had never heard that before. I've never had such a problem (but, I don't actually tire-shine my tires more than once or twice a month). Again, not contradicting you, just pleading my ignorance. You learn something every day.

Ive heard good things about " Son of a Gun" tire shine, didnt see anything on the bottle about being petroleum based but then again it didnt say it was water based either.

Those wheels actually look hella clean on there! Only time I've really liked the 9c1 wheels. And my friend loves "son of a gun". Never used any myself
