I have a 2002 with a 3.8 series II enigne. It purrs like a kitten and runs like a scalded dog. But the purring turns to what sounds like a squealing bearing after it warms up. The noise is coming from what seems to be the lower driver side of the engine, but I do not see any pulleys or accessories in that location. Anyone else experience this? What should I look for?

Maybe the belt is slipping. Does it have a good shine to it? Cool

My experience:
I had (have) a squealing sound that only comes up after the car gets warm. I tried to take it to the dealer they replaced the belt tensioner and belt for $500 and it still squealed. After trying to figure this out for about 2 years I have come to believe that one of my pulleys or pumps is the culprit. I took the serp belt off and spun the pulleys around and the one with a bit of grinding was my ac compressor. I hit it with some grease and it seems to have quieted down, but still a small squeak. Moral of the story for me is that unless you have a good mechanic nobody is going to spend the time to really diagnose it, they will throw a belt or a pump at it. Since everything is spinning at once with the car going it is tough to find squeaks. This is just my experience, if I'm totally off base I apologize. Make a video if you want more help.
