One of my headlights has been busted for a couple months now and now the light has finally stopped working. I don't want to get any tickets and its hard to see, so I need to get a new set of headlights. Problem is I don't know what i should get. Several different options.
1.) Stock style
2.) One of the projectors on ebay
3.) Projectors off ebay with real HID projectors retrofitted
4.) Stock style housings with retrofit HID projectors
5.) Several mods I could do inside the headlight as well
And on top of the options, there's other options, such as tinted lenses, chrome or black, etc.
What would you do?? Post links or pics if you like
Heck I'll add a poll too.

Stock style with tinted lenses.

I personally think all the projector style with LED's all over the place on ebay, look like total crap. They say "hey look at me,.. I just wasted a few hundred bucks to make my car look like the neighbor kids honda" . Laughing

Im not even a fan of retrofit projectors, they still look out of place. Gives the car a bug-eyed appearance.

Factory installed projectors are a cleaner look because they mold the housings to flow with the lines of the car.

Only problem I have with stock, and why I was considering a retrofit, is that the output just sucks. I get tired of not being able to see at night, and especially annoyed when people's lights behind me leave a shadow in front of me of my car!
Is there a solution to this without retrofiting?

Same here. 5k, 55w in the stock headlamps. Plenty bright. Just need to aim them down a bit since the light scatters a bit too much in the stock housings.

And if I really need it, I have upgraded bulbs in the highbeams for the quad headlight mod as well. No problems. Cool

If you can't see properly at night, you need to spend money getting your eyes checked, not on brighter headlights.

Some bulbs dim as they age, maybe you should consider just placing the halogens with new ones and see where that gets you.

I actually read up on the Toshiba ones for the 9006 bulbs. Better off just using plain jane Silverstars instead.

I would upgrade to HIDs and stick to the OEM color temperature. Anything in the blue and purple spectrum produces less light and blinds oncoming traffic. Don't buy the cheap Chinese kits on amazon and ebay tthat don't come with relays and buy a high quality kit, reliable like this:

Last time I checked, almost every HID kit (aside from the name brand stuff like Philips) is the same generic stuff packaged by a different vendor. What are buying is better customer service, not necessarily a better part.

Looks like most say go with stock housing style lights. Smoked stock style would be cool. One of my concerns is the fact that apparently they will most likely leak in moisture.
I don't have HID's now, but I thought they just reflected around too much in the stock housing? If not I might as well do that. 5k is the perfect color, and is it necessary to go 55w over 35w? Probably will go with ddm tuning.
I do agree projectors, especially aftermarket projector headlights look bug eyed.
Been looking on ebay for the smoked ones. Seems to be plenty to chose from, but most look like they say smoked housing, so not sure if that means lense or just the inside.

Yeah, it does scatter a bit, but the light output is well worth it IMO.
