2003 Chevrolet Impala

PostPosted: Tue Feb 28, 2012 10:01 am    Post subject: Question Service Traction Soon, ABS and Trac off lights Reply with quote

I know this topic has been talked about alot, but here is my issue. 2003 LS Impala with 227,000 miles. A had this a year ago, the code was pointing to the LF wheel speed sensor. Replaced the hub and the wiring for both front wheels and that fixed the problem then. Now it has come back, i checked the voltages to each wheel speed sensor and checked the senors and they all check good. What i have noticed is depending on how i park the car, say on an up slope or down slope the lights do not come on and the traction controls work fine. Parking level and the lights come on. I finally got the code and its C1218. Anyone have any ideas on what i should look at?

There is a thread floating around (scottb1982?) had a similar issue and it turned out to be a bad ground for the ABS computer. Give the search a whirl and see if you can find it.

I assume your brake fluid is full? I got those same warnings when mine was low.
Not sure about the code though.
