...Anyone have or used these? They look nice, but at the same time they appear to be a "bit pricey", so I would love to hear your opinions. I may be willing to play the guinea pig role if need be. I'm currently sporting the LS decals from the Naioa shop.

Thanx for any feedback Smile

I would only consider it if there was something i was trying to cover up like a scratch. Its probably going to look somewhat tacky.

I actually like 'em and would have a set on my '05 in a second if the car wasn't white (they will not go on my '08 SS, however, as the font is wrong for that year). I just don't think the chrome looks good against the white.

Well, maybe those are different than the ones I looked at about a year ago which were actually very "polished" looking—didn't look cheep at all. Of course, the ones I saw then were more expensive than these, for what that's worth.

they arent real aluminum, they are brushed aluminum "vinyl" which is actually a metallic film. Then they have a coating on them, possibly a domed epoxy.

The coating WILL scratch over time

oh, they arent "rare" either since he makes them himself and cam make as many as he wants

Here is another option. I bought these from my dealer parts department - I am thinking they were too much, like 45-50 bucks for both. They are original equipment from the "new" body style (through 2012) Malibu. They do not have them for the rears. They are peel and stick, but have held up really well. They LOOK like aluminum and are sturdy. Much more OEM looking and presumable better wearing than the ebay poster.

Sorry, I just checked my files, and I must have thrown the receipt away, which would have the part numbers. I do recall, when I ordered them, that there was a separate part number for the left and right side.

I found my original post from when I first installed, but unfortunately I did not list part numbers. I did find, however, that I advised people to go to gm parts direct and look up 2010 Malibu and then look up a part called "Scuff Plate Right" and " Scuff Plate Left ". I got them for my dealer, but I got the part numbers from gm partsdirect

That's what I was thinking of doing too, using GM parts direct. Thanks.

I remember searching for "door sill", "sill protector" etc, and finally hit it right at "Scuff Plate Right" and "Scuff Plate Left".
