Hey guys, have any of you been on Copart.com? I search the site once in a while seeing if anything pops up. I found this Impala that was in the process of being stripped but recovered.

Wow. So the perps were dismantling the vehicle and were caught? Nice. Are the 3.9's really that much money that it's worth stealing one??

The cars that are plentiful on the road, not the expensive cars, are the popular theft targets, because there's a good market for parts.

Top 10 US:

1 Honda Civic (1995)
2 Honda Accord (1991)
3 Toyota Camry (1989)
4 Ford F-150 (1997)
5 Chevrolet C/K 1500 (1994)
6 Acura Integra (1994)
7 Dodge Ram Pickup (2004)
8 Nissan Sentra (1994)
9 Toyota Pickup (1988)
10 Toyota Corolla (2007)

Yes sir! Like madbrad said, you see tons of Impalas on the road so that means more accidents. Higher demand for parts vs ordering new ones.

Lesson: Keep your Impala locked tight!! I currently have the highest bid on a 2008 red SS Impala on that site!

I wonder how they even nab these cars.. must haul 'em away. You'd think it would still be tack-able via Onstar.

Looked at that SS... Daaaamm. That chick must've been pretty pissed! Shocked
Almost 14-grand in damage. Nice X cut into the seat too. I hate when people take out their anger on other people's vehicles CURSE

Yeah I didn't see a red '08, just that silver, and boy that thing was trashed! Sad
I didn't realize 'till after I posted that you had said a red one, so that wasn't the one you were bidding on.

So I saw a 2010 Cadillac cts with no damage that went for $3700. Why do these cars go for low with a salvage title?

My grandpa as well as my dad have bought cars out of copart( my grandpa owned his own car lot till he retired few years ago) my dad got his GTP out of there. They always went and looked cos you can't tell by the pictures. But, IIRC you have to have a dealer license to purchase from them. Hence how I got my first GP.

Yep, believe you have to have a Dealer's License like you said. I've had damaged and fixed vehicles in the past, and I said I'd never have another. I guess it depends on the damage, and who fixed it, with what parts, and how it was fixed.

They're basically worthless with a salvage title because many states won't allow you to sell the car again to the public once it's totaled. They auction the cars just to get them off of their hands.

The one I have a bid on has door damage. I think the auction ends in a few days!

Up under "filter" you can click on "no license" and filter the cars out that anyone can buy.
