This weekend I'm gonna go look at a complete impala for parts. Wanting to know any parts that you guys think I could do something with, or that I should pick up. I'm for sure getting a complete set of black housing tails. Is $80 too much for them? I'm gonna tint them. Was also thinking of getting the rear deck so that I can modify it for a custom speaker install. Just wondering what else would be good that I should look for? I'm not good at thinking on my feet while I'm there.
FWIW, It looks to be an '05 base

Really depends on how much mulla your taking with. And how much stuff you want laying around just waiting to use it. Maybe an extra hazard switch and window switches would be nice. An extra window regulator. Headlights. Front bumper. Back bumper. Tranny. Engine. Trunk lid. Just drag the whole car back. Laughing

80 seems like a fair price if they are in good condition. If they are not in such good condition, i wouldnt give 80. But hey, im cheap.

Lol well I mean mostly small things, I don't have a lot of room to store stuff. So far I have these items on my list, pending the price of them:
Tails
Grill
Headlights
Mirrors
Door panels
Cluster
Rear deck
Interior pieces
Trunk (can't remember the name, but things that hold it open)
Trunk latch
Emblems
Mouldings/weather striping
Dash bolts
switches

Most of it really depends on condition and what options
I'd like to get the front bumper to do some mods to but I have a feeling it won't be cheap from him and I don't have a place to put it and I'd have to get it painted

Trunks struts. Don't waste your money on used ones, by the time they make it a junkyard they are usually garbage.

Amazon, they were cheaper at the time which is why I got them. They're $15 a pop now, or you can go to Rock-Auto and get them for $13.50 each.

Thank you very much. I've been looking for new ones for a while and thought they were a dealer only part.

No problem! This actually reminded me that all my new hood and trunk struts are still on the 2001! Thanks haha

How hard is it too install a hood strut along with the bracket?

The bracket that is on the fender? They are tack welded down onto the fender so good luck changing it (it's a pain in the ass). The struts are simple to change, flat head screw driver in the little springy part that holds onto the ball joint and you can swap them right out.

Ugh. When I bought my car it came without the passenger side strut and mounts. Evil or Very Mad
