I have a chance to buy a 2008 SS cat back dual exhaust .still has the factory hangers on it and is complete from original SS tips to cat flange.

For 100$..

Is that a steal?

And would it be worth it or am I better off fabing up one of my own.
I'm looking for sound more then appearance.

Thanks

I have an 07 SS catback on my 02 3800. Great improvement over stock, nice direct fitment too. Sounds great! Here are a couple videos from my 07 SS catback with the OEM resonator.

Let me know what you think!

Grimsin has done this as well but straightpiped through the resonator, sounds good as well!

Sounds pretty good with just being straight put on. What's it sound like at wot and cruise?

Are you still running it with the stock exhaust setup?

How do you like it?

100 bucks is a good deal for the exhaust itself.

I can't truly comment on the sound you would get because I haven't heard such a swap in person.

Yeah that's the only thing I'm debating on, if there isn't a noticeable difference, then it'd be pretty pointless.. he said it came out at 35k, pics they look a lil dirty and looks like some moisture or oil on the sides of the muffler... But its the great NW so Im not sure... I told him I'd hold off.. just wish others with the setup could chime in...

There is definitely a difference at WOT and Cruise. From outside, it sounds a lot better imo. During cruise, around 2k RPM you can hear the duals from inside the cabin, not loud, but definitely noticeable over stock. It's a great upgrade to your car look wise as well. When going WOT you can definitely hear it more inside the car over the stock single exhaust. I think you should get it! Very Happy

If you are gonna pay someone to install it you might be better off having a shop fab up a new exhaust for you.

Yeah, seriously. Get a floor jack and jackstands. Jack the car up on all 4 corners about a foot up in the air. That's what we did in the driveway...took us all of an hour maybe.

You don't know anyone with a garage or driveway you could borrow for an afternoon?

If he builds hot rods, this is a 60-90 minute job for him, tops...
